BAPTISM
Baptism is an important step of obedience that shows others we have personally trusted Jesus for our salvation. We believe that water baptism is a public declaration of three important things: you are a follower of Jesus Christ, you are beginning a changed life in Christ, and you are part of a new family.
WHAT DOES BAPTISM MEAN?
Baptism illustrates Jesus’ burial and resurrection. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
Once we have chosen to follow Jesus Christ, baptism illustrates that our broken and sinful hearts have been RAISED TO LIFE by God, and we have been given a new life with a new purpose to bring glory to God. (Romans 6:4 and 2 Corinthians 5:17)
Baptism does not make you a Christian. Baptism is a demonstration that you already believe:
Jesus is the son of God
He lived a perfect life
He was sent by God to serve as a sacrifice for sin and you have followed Jesus Christ.
It is important to understand that baptism does not "save" you. We are "saved" only by our faith in Jesus.
